Alternative to Powerbar or powergel

Ok.. I am not following the mainstream for refuelling anymore. Avoiding all unnecessary caffeine and process sugar in the powergel. So just got this recipe from Brendan Brazer as a direct fuel bite. There are few other recipes as well which I do not have the time to make. So for this one I do not have the coconut oil to substitute.

Went to Carrefour and scout around. There only have ORGANIC Virgin coconut oil which the price might equivalent to rocket fuel. So I think I will get some other brand somewhere else .. perhaps from Masjid India or what. Well, guess what.. I substitute it with extra virgin olive oil. Anyway, I also put in the pulps together not just the zest.. :p

It suppose to be put into a food processor.. but I only have blender lah.. well not as smooth but edible.. Put in the freezing fridge now. So will pop it half way point during the race tomorrow.. hope I wont end up in the toilet... hehe...

Broga here we come tomorrow!!

Well.. here is the recipe :-

Klang Run for IT 4...

The making of Tai Lin Ngong statue..
Lost 3.9
at the starting line..men category go first.. and this lady here kinda mix up her gender..
gempak dengan medalnye ... Ini lah ragam manusia.. manis di bibir... katernye.... uhukuhuk..
* Well, you could find images similar to this in the Mao's chinese cultural revolution RMB bill those day... wonder what is really meant those day..
Mr. Lam is a happy man.. having earnt his so call first blood and sweat medal. I tell u the mother was quite happy that he got the medal wei.. Mrs. Lam-wannabe here is no different lah.. having clock 1:27 really pia kaw kaw lat!!!
While Elaine decided to BKT with his friend..me and Lam decided that BKT two days in a row for middle-aged men like us is a little bit too exhausting.. ahaha.. so went to 五条巷to savvy the food recommended by Ashley...one of the dish here.. so next round gonna get her out to order more.. too bad the sotong marmite tak ade...

Running somewhere far require you to wake up wee hour in the morning. So that you get to adjust yourselves, having a light breakfast for energy... getting the mind ready and bit early to avoid what is unforeseen.

So we and Elaine left at 4am and meet Lam at SS2 for a quickie at McD. I quit fastfood totally unless there are no other choice in life anymore.. so chomp the avocado and tomato giap wholegrain bread.. perfect energizing food... eating it at McD without ordering any stuff from them...the only thing I can think of to eat in McD these day is the salad.. oh wait.. is there a salad?.. ahaha

We rode off and the event start from the Stadium. Race start off on time!! Really good!! I forgot my Garmin that morning.. WTF..how could that happen? It is my first race after my high B.P. coming out from hospital. It an ok run since I had run twice last weeks covering 4km and 10km which is good..and the ph diet does help to recover faster. In fact, there are so few L.A. in the leg now. Am still comparing brendan post run recover stuff and also his natural powergel to be use on race. One thing for sure.... 1.2 lit of alkaline water with one lemon squeeze in is perfect recipe for hydration. Now gonna snoop up some recipe for sodium during the long run.

It really took off at km 7 onwards where burning fat as fuel leaving me no panting at all.. For the first time I am breathing smoothly.. beautiful renaissance... Now when I shed this extra 25kgs..I will be trigger happy to run anywhere I guess.

Elaine is doing not too bad herself after hibernating since the last Newton run. Young ppl always have the extra edge.. Sigh.. really kowtow to them.. louyeh 101 jor..damn it..

Mr. Lam finally got his first medal that is out of sweat and blood which he totally despise the 10!10!10! race as an insult to his adrenalin rush.. cayalah.. more to come.. Someday you could have that belt buckle of Western state under your shirt? :p

oK... time to continue indulge in my lonely planet magazine asia...
