Recap 2011

The most unproductive year. Some little surprises and. Long long holiday and nursing the wound.

1) I will forever remember plantar fasciitis and tendonitis.. It does not want to let go.. so from January to March it linger and it came back again from August till November.. so how does it feel? Demotivated and shitty.. but that is part of life. Now at least learn some lessons and adjustment needed.

2) I only did 3 events out of so many that I have plan.

3) I missed flight for the first time in my life.. to Korea.. WTF.. thanks to my good friend Lam..

4) I also give up flying for the first time to Siem Reap..

5) I had no desire anymore to be in relationship.. even got also 5%... perhaps too happy to be alone.

6) I quit my job after 4 and a half years which could be a good thing.

7) Start out something new which doesn't quite last and hope the followup will succeed later.

8) I thought it was the end of my commercial ad career last year. It seems to be big surprise for me to be able to do few ads. For the first time, I appear as main cast without those beards and olden days costume lah.. I don't even quite know what ad I was shooting for until I got home to search for it.. For the first time I got my face into print ad feature in products and public places. :p ... I became quite well known with Old Town white coffee ads.. being label as old town ambassador or mr oldtown which i am not lah. .. and there is part two for it to work with Miao Miao... which really I never expect it to happen.

9) I did voice over com for the first time.. though its a kuci role but it was fun!

10) I did revenge Melaka walk and came back without long injury.. I did it!

11) I get to understand alkaline diet and i think it will give me some breakthru next year.

12) I finally into smartphone from march 1st and been using my android based mi300.. quite a nice phone though with low specs

13) I join public demonstration for the first time - Bersih 2.0 .. get a taste of tear gas for the first time.

14) I went to Bon Odori for the first time.

15) I finally bought the Sony A580 DSLR. so shooting is back into my life again.. it was not in the original plan but the offer I can't refuse. I intend to do it well.

That's all for 2011.. a better 2012 ahead.

2012 Mega sales

Yes.. I am actually planning ahead about 2-3 weeks back for 2012... due to the fact that 2011 is really a redundant year.. Well, at least achieving half of what I want to set out to do also quite happy.

So the sidetrack can be easily monitor and no more blowing hot air oredi.. :p

Trying my very best not to let it collect dust.

The horoscope and zodiac blah blah blah...

Ah yes.. about horoscope all these stuff.. it could be true and might not be true..

Those days there was a certain period of time I keep track of it and observe it with much attention.

From 2004 - 2010 was where I stack thru and flow all these. Talking about the bad and good time and bad and good stuff blah blah blah..

I went thru it all.. then after some thoughts.. even though it could be true.. well.. there's nothing u can do about it prematurely lah.. so just go steady and deal with it when the times come.

Now I will take it as a pinch of salts and utilise to navigate to the best interest and goal of my life lah..

Bottomline is still need to be happy utmost important virtue and live on!!

The year of famine in activities

This is the three stooges for 2011. Thanks to the wonderful plantar fasciitis and the still ongoing tendonitis.. whatever the name it was. All three were done with much pain as lack of training and prolong healing and laziness.

Well, at least I finish something though not way below my expectations. At least I was able to revenge Melaka walk and finish it with crafty way that minimize the damage I plot. Being really meaningless but narcissist of self fulfillment at least.

That's it for this year. As of next year I would not expect much as well until my leg really back to form. Adios!

Ring flash is here finally

This will be the last kopek.. yes.. i seriously hope so as now $$$ is running on the thin line.. furthermore I would like to try some creative shots with macro with the ring flash. It arrive all the way from Poland and I was rather busy in the morning. Tested some few shots. The Delta DRF14

Was quite please with it overall pleasant output. Now need to really get some rechargeable battery to get this going. Though its plasticky but wasn't as inferior as it thought to be.

Now close-up portraiture, macro and products shooting will be totally handy with it. The setback is the 1/160 via Sony ADI.. therefore I think to get a sharper result at really close-up does need a tripod to cut it.

I finally print out next year goals and target. Not exactly all but already 70% and nothing much on 2012 except to excel on few agenda. Hope to progress further and faster within the years run out.

Powerman 2011

So wanted to do this but I can't risk no more my leg. There will be Powerman 2012.

So went there to support by taking photos.

Khoo did a wonderfully by finishing the whole race! Of course there are familiar faces all over and glad to see them.

Dannie & Carrie wedding 11.11.11

So the love bird tie the knots on Friday at St. Barnabas Church in Klang. This is the most loving couple in the local running scene. Virtually stick themselves like glue most of the time.

Am very happy for them and hope that they will leads a very fruitful life for many years to come.

The slides were of course the story of their lari and lari photos.. haha..

It has been quite eventful last weekend. Saturday was wedding shots of Kin Hoong's fren Ellen..

My first wedding photography after a long long time. still got large room for improvement.

The shivel LCD screen does comes in handy in some tricky and versatility times needed. I was able to get some good shots out of it..

If only it could be as versatile as the A77 screen it will be perfect!

Well.. will learn more from the mistakes and progress!

An unwelcome visitor

Wonder where it came about. It could be lying in my "residue" in my room I guess. Since I clean up my room.. perhaps it could not call it home anymore and wandering around like zombies finding shelter away from Sunlight.

Nevertheless.. baygon that fler and kept it in the bottle..Will do some close up macro with it soon.

Tammy is back

Tammy is back!! Cost me an arm an a leg again to have it fix. The front cap is fixed.. Rubber grip has been glued and seal.. Apparently they said not all the fungus could be clean.. but so far I didnt notice any.. However it seems that the lens somehow does not perform as before... perhaps some coating has been diminish along with the cleaning process. Well, at the moment just be please with it.

Got my prepaid u-mobile sim replace... at no cost.. how sweet!!

50 bucket lists

Initially I thought of 100 buckets list from now till 2012.

Again if too much will not be realistic. Lets start with a 50 buckets list. Of course in a usual state the capacity of where I am to I am about to be is unknown. At least now I dealt with frustrations and other fear factor with much calm. In other word, I myself is getting more intelligent lah in my own context.

This list could go up to 100 before 2012 runs out... well..Should at least achieve 20 MINIMUM lah.. some take lotsa efforts while some within own capacity can be done anytime already. Yet sometime we don't constants focus track and remind to reinforce our subconscious.. it will without doubt linger away.

This is good as it get me to be more fulfill and creative in life.

Now I hope I can fill up the bucket one by one and claim victory one at a time!

Bilikku- Syurgaku... uhuk uhuk

I am an unorganize person.. super duper.. slop.. super duper.. even the DBKL rubbish collector will smirk.. yet there are time where I come to a point of tak tahan. Time like this .. there is a calling to revamp.

So already done up 25% of the room. Tomorrow will sambung to spring clean the room. Ah yes.. now actually it look much better overall. Time to fix up the rest tomorrow. Then next is my car.

Was with my friends just now.. he had a baby of 6 months.

A year plus back and before I does have that urge to have my own family and have my own children. Now the feeling is gone and having children to me now the feeling is nuisance. I don't know why I feel this way these day but it it such. Perhaps the age and surpass the period. Prefer very much to do things alone.

Anyway, due to the fact that I have been redundant this whole year. I am writing a bucket lists to fulfill next year. Of course it should be as budget as possible. Hope to scroll the bucket lists with tick as fast as possible.

Sony A580 in the house

It was suppose to be wheelset vs camera..

Well, the priority should be the wheelset if goes by the hierachy. Anyway life is such.. I always was quite awe at this Sony A580.. a camera which I felt has come quite close to have a decent camera that perform as all rounder.

Having a Sony A100.. the ancestor does promise some irritations & the few setback which drive you up the wall when you can shoot what you always wanted. Fortunately when it was launch, I am quite impress with the Multi noise reduction functions and the multiple HDR shots combi. Kudoo to the faster focusing speed which I am so piss with the Sony A100.

Make no mistake, the Sony in its time does play as a beautiful camera which I felt the sensor is excellent in capturing portraiture and true to itself as less noise tweaking and compression. Yet so much is left out to be desire from A100 that you could only do so much.

I was quite broke actually due to the fact that my heel spur has stop me from able to work properly...

There is a plan to acquire the Sony A580 since the A65 & A77 hit the shelves. Can't believe that there are so many people already on the waiting list from A77. The A77 is something to be desire and it will make excellent short films and budget movie. That is another story altogether. Pricing now around 6k plus with the new 16-50 f2.8.. it is no doubt a steal!!

As for me now... I will grab the last of Sony SLR! So chance came when someone offer as such a price that I can't resist. I was actually on 50/50 scale whether to get it or not. Anyway, the camera was so new and it was only about 6 months old and slightly close to half the price already. How can I resist? So grab this baby home and now I have some stuff in mind.

So in the near future I hope this will fill in the blank :-

1. Sony f1.8 or KM f1.7

2. 70-200 f2.8 Tamron/Sigma

3. 11-20 /30 wide angle

4. Flash

It will fulfill my collection.. For now I am content with what I have.

Long hibernation

I had gone in the dark. Partially to ignore the world for my leg recovery. It came off and on and now I had come to a stage where just let it be and let it be.

However, something struck me and I won't let this year run out in such tasteless deform.

Coming up a sudden surprise that OTWC wants a continuation of the ad.

OTWC has drawn much publicity to me. I realize now that I am not much of a publicity person. But I am happy when I could spark a little joy in people life. Am glad I could contribute in certain way. I think especially the older uncle and auntie whom their generations had not forsaken tv and its series. Hopefully there will be some surprise in this part 2. Hope the director will put some efforts and everybody will put effort into it.

Powerman and PBIM. Hmm.. I don't want to talk about it now. Let see how my legs healing fair in this few days.

The Big Bad Wolf really is a big bad wolf after all

All this for only RM21.. of course I took advantage of the OCBC voucher. Hahaha.. was on to Marco Pantani bio at the moments. There is something about the Italian. Their life and what evolve it it.

I think Marco should have not been born an Italian. Perhaps the American constitution will draw this introvert out to express himself better. The cults in Italian sports is more of mixture of so much of European political air and belief. It is so deeply rooted that one have to understand the history behind it all to glimpse fully the passion that surround them.

I shall talk more on this once I am done reading. This book is so well documented that the pain to go to the extend of writing is enormous and no ordinary feat could come out with this remarkable piece of book.

Oh.. the BBW is still going on.. am happy to strike such a cheap deal.

Finally new glove

It's important to keep your glove dry. How I miss my pair of Merida glove which finally gave way. Got this from Samy just now at RM50. Hope it could last a year at least. bOLeh?

OCBC Cycle Malaysia

I wasn't so interested in this event at first. Then again it was a charity drive and you also get a cycling jersey for the 48km event. I had enough of running vest. I need few more cycling jersey.

I thought it was held in Sunway area lah.. then a close look.. it is held in Dataran Merdeka. How fun could this be as you will be at the sikal rempit you want in this KL criterium. I reckon it should be fun to crunch 4 lapses in the street of KL.

I am so looking to this event as well.

Boleh Jalan!!

That thing call Plantar Fasciitis is demonizing. Its champion the cause of a devil's advocate.

So much so I gave in and wage such a weary war. Cost me my emo, time and money. Something which I hate to lose. But the experience is priceless.

Now after some self therapy and chiropractic sessions... I think I am back to the garrison line.

It seems too long couple with my hypertension really bang me to the lowest pit. It not something that punch you directly. It something that you gave in daily where the self-destruction is just simply incredible. It depends on how someone pick oneself again and ride.

I still have half of the year to make myself worthy of 2011.

Took sometime to clear the list of this year events.. beside than the grassroot event. This are the events that is high on my priority.

1. River jungle marathon.. had not done this before... It will be an important milestone for PBIM if I done this one right.

2. King of mountain - I want to do this badly. I was on sure fire when I see the route when going down. This is the one to conquer and I will be happy that day.

3. POWERMAN - This one lie top in my list. All training wil be focus on this beast first.

4. PBIM - I wanted to really experience what it is really like to run the whole of Penang Bridge. Seeing Khoo nailing it is definitely interesting.

5. Angkor Wat- Its not really important as it is half but anyone it will be my first out of the country run.

6. MELAKA WALK - You gave me hell. I will be back and ready.

I already see myself done well in few races already.

HELL YEAH!!

I had never been to Bon Odori despite it was held so many years in Malaysia.. Today went with the gang lah.. Quite fun actually to join in the dance. I dont think you will ever feel the fun as a bystander. Siap dapat kipas satu jugak..

So lucky to bump into my primary and high school mate Soh Jun Hian.. he came with his son and wifey. Such a loving family!! huhuhuh...

BERSIH 2.0

The Bersih Leader was negotiating with Cops that time. However we were being conned later by the cops to let us proceed and march to Jalan Sultan. Yea.. the sly PRDM..
The FRU is getting ready for another round of engagement.

Cops chopper was slowly flying in low altitude to get those tear gas swinging around. It was really hard to swallow..

Bersih 2.0.. A cause that is worthy to be fought for. My first participation in a demonstrations without arm of course. Mr. Lam was busy with his factory chore and managed to pick me up a little bit late as his factory machine went bizarre. Nevertheless we still could make it to the 2pm mark. Following up info online, I guess the best bet is KLCC if all the other stations are close.

So from Rampai LRT, we found out Masjid Jamek was closed. Prior to that, I was in touch with Kong Yew & Shiao San on their progress along the way.. We decided that Dang Wangi was the nearest station before Masjid Jamek. There were cops at Dang Wangi station already. Lotsa tourists and some other people might be heading to KL Sentral via Masjid Jamek interchange could not do so.. They had to go all the way to Dang Wangi station. Some with heavy luggages. So when we were at Masjid Jamek, the were lotsa cops and FRU. So enter the zone. We walks towards Metrojaya and there were FRU in the front waiting. The leftover of the teargas was not visible to us. We were not in the group yet and already kena tear gas kaw kaw. Its kinda like rubbing chilis padi into your eyes and next the throat is so dry up and u start coughing. It was horrible.

So we decided to take the backlane to Jalan Sultan and see where the groups are form. There were two malays fler asking us are we coming for the Bersih. They must be happy to see us and proud the chinese does heed the call to make a stand.. U know lah.. chinese very kiasi one in terms of all this.. One of them told us that this country does not belongs to malay only. It belongs to malay, chinese and indian. He kept reassuring us. I think that was a nice comforting words at sure does have some impact on Lam. I always have not been waver from that... so my idealism does stand till this day though sometime despair.

Then we were at the centre of traffic between puduraya, maybank and Kotaraya. There were still lotsa crowds near the slope of the maybank area. Then police began to squeeze and launch their catches. Some kena caught while other lari lintang pukang.

I was negotiating where to join the pack. The pack seems to be later coming from Puduraya. It was a huge crowd. They were lashing out the Bersih Slogan. Then they went further.. The FRU and cops on standby. The next we know it, huge booming discharge of teargas heading our way and police were on the cat and mice game again. I was like within 10 metres away from the tear gas. So ran as quick as possible towards the basement of puduraya where the buses used to park. Another doseof teargas... but there were water from a piping hose available for us to clean ourselves. It was teary and choking. Luckily the cops didnt come in the basement to catch us. Then we tried to go up the station 1st floor seeing there was a journalist doing his work via a notebook. He either had lungs and robotic eyes or what.. still can punch away the notebook of the recording while we could barely breath and see upstair.. So we went down.. Not too long the rain set in quite heavily for awhile for like 15 mins before it subside.

Now I was reagding online that FRU was sandwiching both side of PUDU station and from Bukit Bintang area.. so there was no escape. So saw that the leaders were negotiating with cops at the back of the FRU line. It took awhile and finally the leaders were let in through the FRU and back to the crowd. I was hesitating a bit.. and what the heck.. we are here for this.. so Lam putih putih follow me through the FRU as well. Now there were no escape. We are in the crowd. Saw lotsa people were finding refuge at Tung Shin Hospital carpark. I decided to join the pack down there. Then came the news the cops allow us to march towards Jalan Sultan. So get the crowd from Tung Shin hospital to come down. It was a dirty tactic by the cops to lure people in tung shin to join the road march. Next we were marching a bit.. next they catch the leaders.. and next the chemical spray vehicles are on the move.. and tear gases discharges.. I ran so fast since for a long time.. so went in a tight corner on the right where the field had been fence for construction. We hid under the abandon building.. but the cops began to hunt us down. We ran towards the church and thought we are doom to be cornered. Then there was an escape route leading to an apartment behind.. there were one mamak restaurant there. So we went in and had our drink.

It was really a muhibbah Malaysia lah.. ahaha.. Demonstrator same table as us came as far as Baling..wow.. Then there was this Tok iman.. must be some big shot that came in to shook our hand.. Shaking me and Lam hand and asking us Sudah makan? ahaha...
